Enjoy the Best of South Devon Camping

Close to Salcombe, Miles from Stress

Nestled in a peaceful valley just five minutes from Salcombe, our family-run campsite offers a relaxed countryside escape in the heart of South Devon’s South Hams. Surrounded by nature, Alston Farm is the ideal base for exploring the coast, enjoying the quiet of the countryside, and reconnecting with what matters.

We welcome tents, touring caravans, campervans and motorhomes across a range of spacious grass and hardstanding pitches, with or without 6 amp electric hook-up. We also offer two well-appointed static caravans for hire, set among a number of privately owned holiday lodges and statics on site.

Set on a working farm, the campsite is alive with birdsong, wildlife and starlit skies. After watching the sun set over the fields, enjoy food and drinks with friends around a fire pit (guests are welcome to bring their own), or simply sit back and listen to owls calling through the night. You might even spot wild roe deer or other nocturnal visitors passing through.

Whether you're here for walking, beach days or simply switching off, our location offers easy access to some of South Devon’s most loved spots. Salcombe, Bantham, Hope Cove and the South West Coast Path are all within a short drive, making Alston an excellent choice for campers who want to balance countryside calm with coastal adventure.

With a warm welcome, wide open spaces and a laid-back atmosphere, Alston Farm is the kind of place where memories are made. Bring your sense of adventure, your favourite people and your love of the outdoors – and stay as long as you like.

What Our Guests Have to Say

  • What a glorious little site this is

What a glorious little site this is, such a tranquil, well cared for in every way, to get back from the busy beaches and listen to the birdsong and having the chance to see a Barn Owl hunting along the hedgerow was an added bonus. Toilet/wash areas kept immaculately, 20p for the shower is adequate, just a pity we only had 4 nights on our return from Cornwall. We will be back.

  • Its a brilliant picturesque site

We stayed here with our touring caravan for a week. Its a brilliant picturesque site. We loved how tucked away this site was, and it felt much smaller than it is (a good thing). The owner Penny was lovely, so helpful and kind. Always had change available for the showers etc and the kids loved watching her drive around in her tractor and having a sit in it. The playground was great, our daughter especially loved the zip line. The dog walk is fantastic although after a day at all the nearby beaches we didn’t need it much. Facilities are simple camping ones but always clean and available. We asked for a quiet spot and it was brilliant. Would highly recommend and will be returning.

  • Everyone is so friendly

We stay at this wonderful site every year for days and weekends throughout the year. It’s quiet, peaceful, it’s like having your own enormous back garden. Everyone is so friendly. Can’t wait for March 2026.
